Anki

Download and install Anki

Anki runs on every platform you are likely to study on. Pick the right build for your device, install once, and sync later if you use more than one.

Official download links

Always download from the official Anki site or trusted app stores. Third-party mirrors sometimes bundle outdated or modified builds.

Install on desktop

Desktop Anki is the easiest place to import decks and inspect card content before you study on mobile.

  1. Download the installer for your operating system from apps.ankiweb.net.

  2. Run the installer and open Anki when it finishes.

  3. On first launch, Anki creates a local collection—no account required to start.

  4. Optional: create a free AnkiWeb account under Tools → Preferences → Network to sync across devices later.

Install on mobile

Mobile is where most learners do daily reviews. Import on desktop first, then sync—or import directly on mobile if you only use one device.

  1. Install AnkiMobile (iOS) or AnkiDroid (Android) from the official store links above.

  2. Sign in with your AnkiWeb account if you already synced from desktop.

  3. If you have no account yet, you can still import APKG files directly on most mobile builds.

What you see on first launch

Empty collection is normal

A fresh install shows an empty default deck. That is expected—you will import a shared deck or an export from Cramblr next. Do not feel you need to type cards manually on day one.
